About IME Company

Digital innovation plays an important role for IME in adding value through increased productivity and lower capital and operating costs. We are actively working on a range of digital technologies including cloud computing and advanced analytics.

From machine learning to computer vision and deep learning to virtual assistants, IME has been focused on a range of technologies that have supported advances in AI. The development of AI technology allows us to interrogate these data sets, to simulate previously unforeseeable scenarios, to optimise processes, predict anomalies, identify objects and draw meaning from disparate data sources. Increasingly these models, rather than being purely data driven, are infused with scientific constraints. All of this enables us to enrich our software.

As a company leading the development of software, IME provides startups that take part in the programme with the credibility needed to build trust with customers, partners and investors globally.

The greatest and fastest digital innovations come from collaboration and broad coalitions. We partner with some of the leading technology companies to develop and deploy digital solutions at scale across our businesses. The global innovation footprint is large and diverse, so significant effort is needed to leverage the richness of what is available to allow for more open free-flow of ideas and technology. That is why we operate an open innovation strategy and collaborate with our business partners, universities and research institutes, suppliers, and customers. Open innovation helps to ensure a healthy influx of new ideas and speeds the deployment of new technology. We believe open innovation is key to rapidly innovate and deploy digital technologies to help accelerate the development of software. We actively support the development of common data standards and platforms to accelerate innovation and make it easier to share data across organisational boundaries.

In a time of rapid change, it is important to learn from others, make the most of our collective strengths and find the best ways of doing business. One way we do this is through our collaborative entrepreneurship and innovation programmes.

The IRSA StartUp Engine programme is looking to support startups working in areas such as renewables, energy storage and smart grids. Our programme provides access to mentors, subject matter experts, learning opportunities from peers, access to a class accelerator, a alumni network, and tailored support sessions.
